FACT Review: Beefbar Dubai is one for the carnivores

Calling all carnivores! There's a new restaurant just for you in the form of premium steakhouse BeefBar Dubai. FACT's David Tapley was one of the first diners to sink his teeth into the city's latest culinary offering.

On first impression, BeefBar Dubai appears to be all about marbling, whether it's the meat served or the black stone that takes precedence on the tabletops of this upmarket dining destination.

A sense of luxury may be the feeling that the newly opened BeefBar is trying to evoke. Still, within the confines of the restaurant space (previously occupied by Black Tap), the vibe is altogether more casual. This lively new restaurant combines Parisian Art Deco flair with a colour palette inspired by local nature, spilling out onto the walkway surrounding Jumeirah Al Naseem's picturesque Turtle Lagoon. It's a beautiful setting for an evening meal and the ideal place to satiate your carnivorous urges.

Review BeefBar Dubai

Born in Monte-Carlo over a decade ago, the Beefbar experience reflects a cosmopolitan culture created by Riccardo Giraudi (AKA The Beef Boy) that aims to break the classical codes often associated with steakhouses. At BeefBar Dubai, the dining experience is fun and frivolous. A place where cookery is inlaid with cheeky emojis and the menu offers something to tempt everyone's palate, including gyozas and smoked Kobe beef quesadillas.

Beefbar's starters feature street food-style dishes with an appealing twist. We begin with the tantalising Boa Bun (AD 109) that arrives amidst wafts of smoke in a glass bell jar. We're immediately enamoured by the pillowy texture of the Korean buns generously stuffed with jasmine tea-smoked Kobe beef. Similarly, the Tacos (AED 85) pack a flavoursome punch thanks to a sweet and spicy combination of tender Angus beef, Kobe beef butter and habanero.

If you've opened Instagram in the past week or so, you've likely seen the seductive pouring of La Sauce Beefbar (black truffle and an extract of Sauce Originale Relais de Paris) over a Croque Sando (AED 145). This must-order dish sandwiches dry-aged beef ribeye ham between slices of fluffy milk bread that are quite literally to die for! While the sando has become a trending dish that has seemingly appeared on every Dubai menu overnight, we're impressed by the flavour profile achieved at BeefBar.

This convention-defying steakhouse is where serious meat aficionados congregate, seeking out the most exclusive imported beef cuts. The BeefBar Dubai main courses span corn-fed Black Angus from the United States, grain-fed Wagyu from Australia, and the famous certified Japanese Kobe beef. The latter – a signature offering – is globally considered the most unique and rare meat due to its exceptional taste and juicy marbling. Unique to the Dubai and London outposts is the Signature Shawarma (AED 159), a dish generously filled with 300 days grain-fed Angus and Wagyu beef and accompanied with a special Beefbar tahini that our dining companion adored. Elsewhere, the Miso Black Beef (AED 239) offers a unique spin on the ever-popular black cod.

To end things on a sweet note, the Gelato Mantecato (AED 90) is a no-brainer offering a light and silky concoction with a variety of toppings, as is the Marble Chocolate Bar (AED 130), a cleverly concocted mix of chocolate, crispy biscuit and melted caramel.

BeefBar Dubai does well to assert itself and stand out from the crowd in a market rife with steakhouses. Having previously held a short stint in DIFC's Al Fattan Currency House in 2018, BeefBar has made a triumphant return to Dubai's dynamic dining scene. With branches in Athens, Monaco, Paris, St Tropez, Méribel, São Paulo, Mykonos, Tulum and Hong Kong (which holds One Michelin Star), Beefbar is, without a doubt, a meat lovers' paradise.
