The two new futuristic rails will make travelling across the city easier.

As roads and metro lines are becoming increasingly congested, Dubai is gearing up for a transport revolution to keep up with its ever-growing population. The bustling city could welcome not one, but two ultra-modern transport systems to make your daily commute a breeze.

In a recent development, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) inked two memoranda of understanding with firms from the UK and the US. The first agreement, with British company Urban Mass, introduces the Floc Duo Rail – an electric-powered transportation system boasting double tracks for efficient city-wide travel. This could slash carbon emissions by 50 per cent, setting a new standard for eco-friendly transit.

The Floc Duo Rail, with its high-frequency "platoons" of pods, promises to revolutionise how people move around Dubai without requiring extensive tunnels and massive stations. It's a futuristic solution that aligns with Dubai's vision of sustainable mass transit.

The second agreement, signed with American company Rail Bus Inc, brings a solar-powered rail bus system into the mix. These vehicles travel on a bridge equipped with solar panels, harnessing the sun's energy to power the entire system. Rail Bus Inc specialises in developing small, driverless vehicles running on elevated tracks. Their ultra-lightweight design reduces infrastructure costs, making it an economically viable option for Dubai's transport landscape. With less than 20 per cent of the budget required for a Metro system with the same length and capacity, Rail Bus Inc is poised to deliver an efficient and cost-effective solution.

The introduction of these two futuristic transport systems in Dubai marks a significant stride towards a more sustainable, eco-friendly, and efficient public transport network. With flying cars, robotaxis, and now elevated tracks and solar-powered buses, the city is shaping the future of transportation. So, buckle up because this revolution is about to take you on a thrilling ride.
