The GCC's largest digital art centre is now open at The Dubai Mall

Infinity des Lumières encompasses three unique exhibits, guiding you through diverse imaginative worlds.

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), inaugurated Infinity des Lumières, the GCC's largest immersive digital art centre this week. Representing a new era of modern immersive art, the centre's establishment further enhances Dubai's position as the city of the future.

The centre, which opened to the public on 1 July, offers a multi-sensory and vibrant journey presented through the art of Van Gogh's Starry Nights, DannyRose Studio's Dreamed Japan "The Images of the floating world", and Thomas Vanz's fully digital creation, Verse.

Infinity des Lumières

Located in The Dubai Mall, Level 2, opposite Galeries Lafayette, Infinity des Lumières has created an innovative, technology-driven artistic platform using 130 projectors, 58 speakers, and 3,000 HD digital moving images and is spread over 2,700 square metres,

Infinity des Lumières features three exhibits - Van Gogh, Dreamed Japan and Verse. In the first dedicated to artist Van Gogh, his famous artwork pulses with life as a spectacular, one-of-a-kind experience. Through pioneering digital technology, the exhibition masterfully showcases the evolution of Van Gogh's art, from The Potato Eaters (1885), Sunflowers (1888) and Starry Night (1889), to Bedroom at Arles (1889), placing you at the heart of each masterpiece.

Dreamed Japan invites guests to step inside a dreamlike space, where the world of 19th century Japan floats around you, blending Hokusai's portraits seamlessly with enchanting landscapes and marvels of the sea. Using the most innovative digital technology to create an interplay of light, colour, sound and rhythm, the exhibition vividly embodies the meaning of ukiyo-e art as "floating world pictures."

Finally, Verse was created as a mesmerising explosion of colours, shapes and sounds. A sensory delight, Verse is a hypnotic, metaphysical journey by Thomas Vanz. A whirling extravaganza of images demonstrating the cosmos' magical beauty and harmonious movement is amplified with the harmonies of an orchestral piece composed by Jonathan Fitas.

Through the support of Dubai's sophisticated community of talents, Infinity des Lumières will spend the coming year creating a niche community where tech-driven artists have a place to gather and innovate. The art centre also seeks to create a platform where digital artists can present their creations for the world to marvel.
